Hossain ... for the State - Respondent(s) The petitioner complains that she has invoices in her possession which relate to the stridhan articles particularly the jewelleries which were part of the gifts at the time of marriage. However, the same were not seized by the police authorities although some of the invoices were considered in the seizure list.
Another grievance of the petitioner is that some of the witnesses - who are her relations, their statement were not recorded, although, they are/were available.
The records of the writ petition
reflect that the investigation of Eco Park PS Case No. 142 of 2025 is still in progress.
If the petitioner tenders further invoices relating to jewellery, the investigating officer will seize the same by way of seizure list.
So far as the statement of all the relations of the petitioner are concerned, in case, the investigating officer considers the same to be necessary for just and proper investigation of the case, it would be for the investigating authority to exercise its discretion and record the statement of such witnesses.
Mr. Banerjee, learned advocate, appearing on behalf of the State, submits that State is ready and willing to render all assistance to the defacto-complainant who has approached the police authorities for redressal of her grievances.
Having considered the submissions
advanced by both the parties, I direct that the investigating authority would adhere to the directions passed above.
With the aforesaid observations, WPA 20317 of 2025 is disposed of.
