Perused the report filed by the Secretary, Purba Medinipur Zilla Parishad on 7th February, 2024 which mentions that the unauthorized construction had been removed.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is under threat and the property of the petitioner has been ransacked by the private respondents. The police is not accepting the complaint sought to be lodged by the petitioner. The aforesaid allegation is denied by the learned advocate appearing for the private respondents.

It appears from the submission made on behalf of the petitioner as well as the private respondents that there may have been a backlash upon the petitioner for standing up against the unauthorized construction and getting the same removed in compliance of the direction passed by the Court. The private respondents may, with a view to take revenge, cause harm to the petitioner. The petitioner intends to approach the police for protection.

The Inspector-in-Charge, Panskura Police Station is directed to render all necessary police protection to the petitioner in the event the petitioner approaches the police station with a complaint. The police shall ensure that there is no breach of peace or tranquility in the locale arising out of the demolition of the unauthorized structure.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
