Grievance of the petitioner raised in this writ petition is that the respondent Electricity authority is not finalising and concluding the proceeding on the basis of his application against excess billing as well as for the change of name which is lying in the name of his father.

It appears from the notice annexed to the writ petition dated 21st February, 2023 being annexure P/4 to the writ petition issued by R.G.R.O. Regional Office, Purba Burdwan that the electricity authority has already initiated a proceeding for redressal of the grievance of the petitioner.

Considering the facts and circumstances of this case and submission of the parties this writ petition being WPA 20374 of 2023 is disposed of by

directing the respondent authority concerned to conclude the proceeding on the basis of the aforesaid notice dated 21st February, 2023 and take a final decision in accordance with law after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his authorised representatives within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order if no final decision has already been taken on the basis of the aforesaid notice.
