The writ petitioner is aggrieved by alleged inaction on the part of the Manicktala Police Station in conducting investigation into the FIR No. 363 dated 01.11.2018.

Counsel for the State submits that the accused has been arrested and has been enlarged on bail.

This Court notes with anguish that investigation into the FIR has not been completed despite lapse of four years.

Manicktala Police Station shall complete investigation into the subject FIR within a period of two months from date, if not already completed.

The Commissioner of Police, Kolkata shall cause an enquiry into the delay of investigation of the subject FIR and take appropriate steps as may be prescribed in law against the concerned I. O. Let a copy of the report of the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata be sent to the Registrar General of this Court and to the learned advocate on record for the petitioner.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
