And In Re : Saifuddin Gayen ..... petitioner Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty ... for the petitioner Mr. Swapan Banerjee Mr. Suman De ... for the State Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the parties. Report filed by the learned Counsel appearing for the State is placed on record. Two witnesses have been examined. Other witnesses will be examined in the next schedule fixed on and from 16th December, 2022.

In view of the aforesaid development and nature of accusation involving possession of narcotic substance above commercial quantity, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

Personal appearance of the Investigating Officer is noted and dispensed with.
