Halder, Mr. Indranil Halder .... for the petitioner Ms. Sumouli Sarkar .... for the CESC Limited Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in the present case, the CESC Limited objected to give new electricity connection to the petitioner on the ground of apprehended splitting of load.

Accordingly, the matter has been referred to the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer, where the same is pending for about two months. Hence, the petitioner seeks a direction on the respondent no.3, that is, the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO), CESC Limited, South West Regional Office to decide the dispute as expeditiously as possible.

Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited contends that in view of the upcoming Puja Vacation, the GRO be given at least four weeks' time for complying with the direction of this court.

Upon considering the submissions of the parties and keeping in view the respective balance of convenience and inconvenience of the parties, WPA No. 20801 of 2022 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.3, that is, the GRO, CESC Limited to decide the dispute referred by the petitioner to the respondent no.3 as expeditiously as possible and in accordance with law, positively within four weeks from this date.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
