The instant criminal revision is for quashing of the criminal proceeding in connection with New Alipore Police Station Case No.205 of 2021 dated 25th November, 2021 under Sections 420/467/468/471/120B of the Indian Penal Code presently pending before the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore, South 24 Parganas.

By filing an application on 4th July, 2022 both the parties, viz., the de facto complainant and the accused persons have file a joint petition of compromise informing, inter alia, that the dispute between the parties have been amicably settled. In view of the said application being filed, without going through the question involved as to whether the offences are compoundable or not, this Court finds that continuation of the proceeding will be a fruitless effort on the part of the trial Court, though not entirely perverse.

In view of such circumstances, this Court on the basis of the joint compromise petition filed by the parties quashes the criminal proceeding being New Alipore Police Station Case No.205 of 2021 dated 25th November, 2021 under Sections 420/467/468/471/120B of the Indian Penal Code and the connected proceedings arising out of the above mentioned case.

The instant revisional application is disposed of on the basis of the petition dated 4th July, 2022.

In view of the above order, the instant criminal revision is disposed of.
