It is the grievance of the petitioner that his prayer for conferring the career advancement benefit as a Professor at Raiganj University, Uttar Dinajpur has not yet been considered by the authority.

Mr. Subir Sanyal, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner prays for consideration of such prayer in a time bound manner.

It does not appear that the petitioner has applied before the university in the prescribed form. In view of the above fact, this writ petition is disposed of granting liberty upon the petitioner to apply before the university for career advancement benefit in the prescribed form in terms of the Regulations of University Grants Commission, Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and other Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher

Education, 2018, within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order.

Needless to mention, that this Court has not gone into the merit of the case. The university shall consider the case of the petitioner in accordance with law. Accordingly, WPA 20461 of 2023 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
