The State of West Bengal Mr. Kallol Mondal Mr. Amanul Islam Mr. Krishan Roy Mr. Souvik Das Mr. Saurav Mukherjee ...for the petitioner Mr. Saryati Dutta ...for the State As per order dated 14th February, 2022 the authenticity of the ration card and Aadhaar Card were asked to be verified by the Officer-in-charge of Krishnaganj Police Station in the district of Nadia. A.S.I. Nandan Mondal has submitted a report stating, inter alia, that the ration card submitted by the petitioner is a fake document. It is submitted by the P.P.-in-Charge that on the basis of the said ration card the petitioner made the Aadhaar Card. Though no report as to the genuineness of

the Aadhaar Card is obtained, the said Aadhaar Card may also be considered as fake one.

It is further submitted by him that under Section 9 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Aadhaar Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 is not a document to prove the citizenship of the person. Be that as it may, since the ration card of the petitioner is found to be fake, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

The prayer for bail is, thus, rejected.

The application is, thus, disposed of.
