The petitioner lodged a complaint before the Inspector-in-charge of the Domjur Police Station alleging that the petitioner was assaulted and her gold chain was also snatched by the private respondents.

Affidavit-in-service filed in court is taken on record.

Inspite of service none appears for the private respondents. Since the petitioner has lodged a complaint, the Inspector-in-charge, Domjur Police Station is directed to consider the complaint and register a First Information Report forthwith if the complaint discloses a cognizable offence. In the event the said respondent decides against the registration of

the FIR, the reasons there for are to be communicated to the petitioner within the period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. If, however, the FIR has already been registered the said respondent shall communicate such fact to the petitioner within the period mentioned hereinbefore and to take steps in accordance with law. With the above observations and directions the writ petition stands disposed of.
