The petitioner is the widow of a deceased primary school teacher. She prays for grant of terminal benefits in her favour and also seeks appointment on compassionate ground.

It appears that a request was made by the Council to the petitioner for submission of requisite documents.

The list of required documents which were to be submitted by the petitioner, however, was not forwarded.

In view of the above, the Secretary of Purba Medinipur District Primary School Council is directed

to immediately forward to the petitioner the list of documents that she is required to submit for processing her claim for compassionate appointment. The petitioner shall be obliged to submit the documents as sought for.

On receipt of the documents, the Council shall process the prayer of the petitioner for compassionate appointment in accordance with law.

As regards payment of terminal dues, steps shall be taken by the District Inspector of School (PE), Purba Medinipur to process the pension file of the deceased teacher so that the petitioner may receive the family pension at the earliest.

Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
