Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioner no.1 is already in custody for 21 years. The petitioner no.1 applied for remission on January 06, 2023 by way of a representation which has not yet been considered by the respondent-authorities. The petitioner no.1 now seeks for a consideration of such representation. 2.

Accordingly, WPA No. 20532 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner no.1 dated January 06, 2023 for remission of the petitioner no.1, taking into consideration the extant law and governing Circulars/Notifictions on such score as well as the established principles of law as laid down in several judgments of this court and the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

Such consideration shall be undertaken by the respondent-authorities within four weeks from the date of communication of this order to the respondent-authorities.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
