Considering that the petitioner is in custody for more than eight years, a Coordinate Bench had granted interim bail to him by order dated September 25, 2024. The order of interim bail was made operative till the end of January, 2025, or until further order, whichever is earlier.

Learned Advocate for the State tells us today that as soon as the bail bond was executed in connection with the present case, the petitioner was taken into custody in connection with another case, which is pending in Gajiabad, Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, the petitioner continued to remain in custody.

Insofar as the present case is concerned, we find that the examination of the last witness is still going on. There is no adverse report insofar as the petitioner is concerned. We, therefore, deem it appropriate to confirm the interim bail that was granted to the petitioner on the same terms and conditions on which interim bail was granted to him and we do so.

CRM (DB) 2733 of 2024 is, accordingly, disposed of. 6.
