The petitioner is aggrieved by the investigation conducted into the death of his son Susanta Mandal. The said Susanta Mondal was missing since 12th November, 2020 and a complaint was registered with the Haldia Police Station on 14th November, 2020. Haldia Police has registered FIR being Haldia Police Station Case No.115/2020 dated 7th December, 2020 under section 363 of the IPC.

On 6th January, 2021, however, the decomposed body of the said Susanta Mondal was found in the vacant quarter at Cluster V of Halida Township. Post mortem was conducted and FSL report was obtained. The police have investigated and found, that the said Susanta Mondal committed suicide, and have filed FRMF being Haldia PS FRMF No.1/23 dated 10th January, 2023.

The details of the findings of the police and the investigation are contained in the instructions dated 2nd April, 2023 issued by the Inspector-in-Charge,

Halida Police Station addressed to the learned Government Pleader and the same is taken on record. A copy of the aforesaid report be made available to the counsel for the petitioner.

The final report of the police is pending consideration before the ACJM, Haldia. The matter is posted on 17th May, 2023. The petitioner may file appropriate applications before the Ld. ACJM. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
