Banerjee ..for the petitioners Mr. Santanu Kumar Mitra Mr. Samrat Paul ..for the State The petitioners hold a Stage Carriage Permit for their mini bus operating on the route from Amar Kannan to Durgapur Railway Station via Gangajal Ghati, issued by the Regional Transport Authority, Bankura.

The petitioners have been provided with a timetable for operating the said vehicle, which appears at page 19 of the writ petition. The petitioners allege that a timetable issued in favor of respondent no. 5 for the route from Saltora to Durgapur Railway Station is interfering with the operation of their vehicle. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners that only a ten-minute interval has been allocated between the time schedules granted to the petitioners and respondent no. 5, resulting in a loss of business for the petitioners due to competition in passenger carriage.

Respondent no. 5 is not represented in these proceedings. The affidavit of service filed by the petitioners is ordered to be kept on record.

It appears that the petitioners have submitted a representation to the Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority, Bankura, which is annexed at page 29 of the writ petition, seeking revision of the timetable concerning the routes in question.

The petitioners allege that the said representation has not yet been considered by the relevant authority. In light of the foregoing, this Court finds no sufficient reason to keep this writ petition pending. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Regional Transport Authority, Bankura, to consider the petitioners' representation appearing at page 29 of the writ petition in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

While deciding the representation, the authority shall afford an opportunity of hearing to respondent no. 5 and other stakeholders, if any.

A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the parties accordingly.

Accordingly, WPA 20714 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
