1. The petitioner says that he has no truck with the concerned consignment of contraband goods. He is in custody for 182 days. He prays for bail.

2. Opposing the prayer for bail, learned Advocate for the State draws our attention to the material in the case diary. He tells us that seizure was made from a truck in 2017. 24 cartoons of phensedyl containing codeine mixture were seized. The petitioner was the driver of the truck, which was chased by the police. The petitioner managed to give the police a slip and fled away. He absconded for seven years. Then on February 23, 2024, he was arrested by the police. Signed By :

3. In view of the aforesaid and the prima facie incriminating evidence against the petitioner, we are not inclined to allow his prayer for bail.

4. The prayer for bail is, accordingly, rejected.

5. CRM (NDPS) 1324 of 2024 is dismissed.

6. We are told that charge has been framed and date has been fixed for recording of evidence. There are 13 witnesses. We request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial and bring the same to its logical conclusion as soon as possible.

7. The parties shall communicate this order to the learned Trial Court.

8. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
