For the Defacto Complainant Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about 6 months. He has been falsely implicated in the case. Charges have been framed. Further detention of the petitioner is not required. He prays for bail.

Learned counsels for the State and the defacto complainant oppose the prayer.

I have considered the material on record.

The petitioner is the husband of the victim. The victim's death was due to strangulation. The petitioner was last seen together with the victim near the water body from where the dead body of the victim was recovered. Charges have been framed. There has been considerable progress in trial of the case.

Considering the gravity of the offence and prima facie role of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
