The petitioners are the organizing staffs of the Shrirampur Child Guidance Centre, Hooghly, a school for training of hearing impaired and mentally retarded children and is sponsored by the Directorate of Mass Education Extension, Government of West Bengal.
The petitioners, praying their absorption under the Directorate of Mass Education Extension, had filed a writ petition being WPA 10930 of 2022. The said writ petition was disposed of by directing the Director of Mass Education Extension, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.3 herein to consider the said issue and to pass necessary order.
The said respondent in terms of the said order, had passed a reasoned order on October 12, 2022 holding that the said school is functional and the petitioners are performing their respective
duties as such, may be absorbed as organizing staffs of the said School from the date of its sponsorship subject to the approval of the Finance Department.
Mr. Chattopadhyay, learned Additional Government Pleader submits that the Finance Department has accorded no objection to the said proposal of the respondent no.3, he files the instruction of the Additional Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal dated March 18, 2025 to the said effect, let it be kept with the record. In view of such stand of the Government of West Bengal, the respondent no.3 is directed to take necessary steps for absorption of the petitioners, including grant of consequential benefits as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.
WPA 21293 of 2024 is disposed with the above terms without any order as to costs.
