The petitioner is aggrieved that despite complaint dated 12th August, 2022, Diamond Harbour Police Station has not registered any FIR.

Counsel for the State submits that some element of the offence arose under Kulpi Police Station. He further submits that since the accused person is residing in Diamond Harbour, Diamond Harbour Police Station shall register an FIR, inter alia, under Sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code. This Court is of the view that investigation be commenced as expeditiously as possible.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

The petitioner shall communicate a copy of this order to Diamond Harbour Police Station.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
