Heard the learned Advocates for the parties.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner had absconded for 12 years. Trial is in progress. In the event, petitioner is released on bail there is every likelihood he shall abscond and the trial would be delayed.

In view of the aforesaid facts and gravity of offence which would attract mandatory life imprisonment, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Trial Court is requested to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties (Gaurang Kanth, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
