Mr. Uday Sankar Chattopadhyay Mr. Suman Sankar Chatterjee Mr. Pronay Basak Ms. Aishwarya Datta ... ... for the petitioners Mr. Suman Sengupta Mr. Sambuddha Dutta Mr. Sanatan Panja ... ...for the State Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioner society made an application for registration of the petitioners' Society's Durga Puja for the upcoming year 2024 to the Joint Commissioner of Police, respondent no.3 and Officer-in-Charge, Bansdroni Police Station, respondent no.4 but such registration has not been granted by the police authorities.

Learned counsel appearing for the State files a report. Let the report be kept with the record. The report categorically states "It has been transpired that the said association are celebrating Durgotsav for the last 24 years with grandeur by means of restraining from any untoward incident. Moreover there is no other Durgapuja organized by any other

organizer for public within more than 1 (one) kilometer radius of Nivedita Park Cultural Association. The petitioner has placed allegation against the respondents in this Writ Petition that they have not been given necessary permission in order to enlist the name of their puja committee in Aasaan Portal despite of submitting application before concerned authorities including Jt. Commissioner (H.Q), Kolkata Police, Lalbazar by 06.08.2024.

In this context, it is to fervently submit that Bansdroni PS has no objection against the pertitioner for enlistment of the name of Nivedita Park Cultural Association at their scheduled venue subject to the permission from other concerned department including KMC authority."

Heard learned counsel for the parties at length. As the Officer-in-Charge, Bansdroni Police Station/respondent no.3 has already given a no objection regarding enlistment of Nivedita Park Cultural Association Durga Puja in Aasaan Portal of the Kolkata Police, the writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the Bansdroni Police Station to maintain peace and tranquility during the dates when the Committee celebrates its Durga Puja festival at the scheduled venue.

With the above direction the writ petition being WPA 21400 of 2024 is disposed of.

No order as to costs.
