1. By filing this public interest litigation, the petitioner alleges that the 10th respondent has illegally encroached into the land belonging to the 7th respondent/department.

2. As could be seen from the representation dated 8th June, 2023, there were several transactions in respect of the land in question and first of which, even according to the petitioners was in the year 1968. Therefore, at this distance of time, this Court in a writ petition cannot embark upon an exercise as regards the extent of the property. It is for the officers to take note of the complaint and if there is encroachment of any Government land belonging to the 7th respondent/Department, it will be well open to the 7th respondent/department to take action in accordance with law.

3. With this above observations and directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.

4. No costs.

5. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
