Mr. Bidyut Halder Mr. Indranil Halder ... for the petitioner Dr. Madhusudan Saha Roy Mr. Debanjan Chatterjee ... for the CESC The grievance of the petitioner is directed against unauthorized disconnection of the electricity supply at the premises of the petitioner. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the respondent-CESC Ltd. has unlawfully and illegally disconnected the electricity connection to their premises.

On behalf of CESC Ltd., it is submitted that this is a blatant case of theft and the dues in respect of premises are Rs.1,40,575/-.

There is no basis as to why the petitioner should be given any reduction or concession in payment of the outstanding dues. The petitioner has not availed of the alternative statutory remedy of appeal. There is no embargo nor stay of the impugned order. In the absence of any such stay the claim of CESC Ltd. has become final and binding.

There is no enforceable legal right, which the petitioner had been able to demonstrate to seek any reduction in the payment of the outstanding amount.

WPA 20707 of 2025 stands dismissed without any order as to costs.
