None appears for the respondents despite service. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

It is contended on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner purchased a vehicle bearing No.WB-67/6879 through e-auction floated by the Forest Department, upon payment of entire consideration for the vehicle along with other requisite fees.

The Divisional Forest Officer, Bankura (South) Division by a letter issued on 30th April, 2013 requested the Regional Transport Officer, Bankura to replace the name of the erstwhile owner by the name of the petitioner in all relevant documents pertaining to the said vehicle. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that though several hearings took place pursuant to the said letter, no order has yet been passed or communicated to the petitioner.

The petitioner prays for a direction upon the concerned authority to conclude the hearing within a

stipulated time frame and communicate the decision thereof to the petitioner at the earliest.

Since the request made by the forest department before the Regional Transport Officer, Bankura is pending, as submitted on behalf of the petitioner, the Regional Transport Officer, Bankura, being the 2nd respondent herein, is directed to deal with the said letter and take a decision to that effect within one month from date. The 2nd respondent is further directed to communicate the said decision to the petitioner within a week thereafter. With the above observations and directions this writ petition being WPA 20110 of 2014 along with CAN 1 of 2016 are disposed of.

However, there shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
