Mr. Sabyasachi Chatterjee Mr. Sandipan Das Ms. Priyanka Paul ... ... for the petitioner Mr. Jahar Lal De Mr. Rudranil De ... ... for the State The grievance raised in this public interest petition is as regards the embezzlement of public fund at Khushida Gram Panchayat level in the district of Malda in the process of distribution of flood relief money. According to the petitioner there was flood in that area in 2017 and flood relief money was given to the victims in 2019. The petitioner alleges that the fund sanctioned for the enlisted beneficiaries has been transferred to the account of other persons who are not entitled. Learned counsel for the State has pointed out that the representation (Annexure P-1) is not at the instance of the petitioner. He submits that if the petitioner files appropriate representation before the respondent no.5 then the grievance will be duly looked into.

Hence, we dispose of the present petition permitting the petitioner to file an appropriate representation before the respondent no.5 along with all the supporting materials. On receipt of the same the respondent no.5 will duly consider the grievance of the

petitioner and will take a decision in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of the representation.
