For the Petitioner Mr. Bidyut Kumar Roy Ms. Rita Dutta .....For the State Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 128 days and as the charge-sheet has already been submitted the petitioner may be released on bail. Ms. Rita Dutta, learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the petitioner alongwith others are foreigners who have been intercepted at the border area. Having regard to the materials available in the Case Diary, the nature and gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Learned Trial Court is directed to expedite the progress of framing of charges and conclude the trial within a reasonable period of time by at least fixing one day in a month so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion.

Thus, C.R.M.(SB) 220 of 2022 is dismissed.
