Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner expresses anguish at the delay occasioned by the learned Tribunal in disposing of the original application of the writ petitioner, seeking merely an expeditious disposal of the representation of the writ petitioner by the respondent no.3, that is, the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer, Sreerampore-Uttarpara.

It is contended that the next date has been fixed by the Tribunal on April 29, 2026.

Upon hearing learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Senior Government Advocate, we are of the opinion that in view of the innocuous nature of the order proposed to be passed, further service of notice on the private respondents in respect of the writ petition is deemed redundant.

To show that the service has already been effected on all the respondents, affidavits-of-service are filed today, which are kept on record.

Since the entire dispute before the Tribunal is the delay in disposal of the representation of the petitioner by the respondent no.3, we are loath to relegate the matter to the Tribunal for an unnecessary exercise and instead choose to direct the respondent no.3 to dispose of such representation from the present proceeding itself.

Accordingly, WPLRT 145 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.3 herein, that is, the Block Land and Land Reforms Officer, Sreerampore - Uttarpara to dispose of the representation dated March 26, 2025 given by the writ petitioner, as annexed at pages- 147 and 148 of the present writ petition, upon giving adequate opportunity of hearing to all interested persons, including the private respondents as well as the State, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within December 15, 2025.

It is made clear that this court has not gone into the merits of the contentions in the representation and it will be open to the respondent no.3 to decide on the same in accordance with law without being prejudiced by any of the observations made herein.

Consequentially, O.A. 1471 of 2025 (LRTT) pending before the Second Bench of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal stands disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

10. Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.) I agree.
