Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today is taken on record.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that they had a land measuring about 8 Cottah Chittak sq.ft.

Subsequently, the Howrah Improvement Trust acquired some portions of land. 4 Cottah 12 Chittak 0 sq.ft. remained. Yet, in a subsequent assessment, it was found that the petitioners' land are wrongly recorded as 1 Cottah of land. Representation has already been made to correct the same, but the same has not been disposed of as yet. Learned advocate appearing for the Howrah Municipal Corporation submits that it is for the respondent no.5 to decide the representation made by the petitioners.

Let the respondent no.5 consider the representation of the petitioners dated 3 June, 2022 in this regard within four weeks from the date of communication of the order after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.

The conclusion arrived at by the respondent no. 5 shall be communicated to the petitioners within a week thereafter.

Without prejudice the petitioners shall continue to deposit taxes in respect of their actual land measuring about 4 Cottah 12 Chittak 0 sq.ft.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
