Sarkar ... for the Petitioner(s) Mr. Jahar Dutta Ms. Indrani Nandi ... for the State-Respondent(s) The petitioner complains of insecurity because of the incident of 19.05.2025 wherein she complains that the accused persons in the criminal cases abused her in derogatory languages as also threatened and forced her for transferring the land in lieu of a fixed sum of money.

The incident, according to her, was informed to the police station, but, no steps were taken.

Learned advocate for the State submits that the incident so complained of

was taken into account and a proceeding under Section 126 of the BNSS has been drawn up.

Be that as it may, the petitioner prays for protection in view of the earlier criminal cases so pending.

Having considered that a proceeding under Section 126 of the BNSS has been drawn up, I am of the opinion that the police authorities would continue their surveillance.

However, the petitioner is granted liberty to approach the jurisdictional Court in seisin of Kaliachak PS Case No. 873 of 2021 and Kaliachak PS Case No. 650 of 2024 thereby praying for protection under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

In case, such an application is filed, the learned court would call for a threat perception report and, thereafter, pass necessary directions under the

Scheme of 2018.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 20842 of 2025 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.

Report so submitted be kept with the record. A copy of the report be handed over to the petitioner.
