The petitioner was the Principal of Regent Institute of Science and Technology, a private vocational training college affiliated to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The petitioner has challenged the communication of the Secretary of the said College dated August 26, 2025 whereby he has been asked to hand over the charge of the office of the Principal to a newly appointed incumbent, namely, Soumyendu Bhattacharjee.

Mr. Karmakar, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that during pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner has been terminated from his service.

In view of such development, challenge to the letter dated August 26, 2025 has become infructuous, WPA 21076 of 2025 is thus dismissed as such without any order as to costs. The petitioner is free to challenge the order of termination of his service in accordance with law. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties, subject to compliance of all requisite formalities.
