1. The petitioner seeks new electric connection. He was intimated by the District Engineer, North Suburban District, CESC Limited by a communication dated 26th July, 2024 that their authorised personnel were unable to carry out an inspection as the meter board room/possession was not accessible.

2. It appears from the submission made on behalf of the petitioner that he does not reside at the place where the new supply connection has been sought for.

3. The CESC personnel is directed to intimate the date and time of inspection to the petitioner at least seven days in advance.

4. The petitioner shall provide free access to CESC personnel for conducting inspection for the purpose of processing his application for grant of new connection.

5. On compliance of all statutory formalities, electric connection shall be given to the petitioner at the earliest.

6. Affidavit-of-service filed today in Court be kept with the records.

7. Report forwarded by the Officer-in-Charge, Noapara Police Station, dated 18th November, 2024 be retained with the records.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
