Petitioner submits he is in custody for 490 days. He renews his prayer for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. He submits bail prayer of the co-accused has been rejected by this Court.

We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show petitioner was a member of a gang who assaulted the victim causing grievous and life threatening injuries. Some of the accuseds absconded after grant of bail which is caused delay. Bail prayer of other co-accuseds have been turned down by this Court.

In view of the prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged crime and the profile of the case involving coaccuseds with criminal antecedents and propensity to abscond, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is rejected.
