1. Heard learned lawyers for both the parties.

2. Petitioner contends he was not arrested from the spot and has been falsely implicated in transportation of narcotics.

3. Learned lawyer for the State submits that petitioner was the driver of the vehicle. His phone number had been given to the consignee to whom legitimate goods were dispatched. Petitioner utilized the said situation to carry narcotics in the vehicle. On search 830 litre of Phensedyl syrup was recovered.

4. We have considered the materials on record. A consignment of electronic goods was dispatched to the consignee company. Telephone number of the driver had been given to the said company. On suspicion, the vehicles were apprehended. However, the drivers of the vehicles escaped. From the said vehicles, 830 litre of phensedyl syrup was recovered. Telephone number which had been handed to the consignee company belongs to the petitioner.

5. In view of the materials collected against the petitioner, he was arrested. Investigation is in progress.

6. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
