1. Petitioner prays for expeditious disposal of prosecution under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.

2. I note the proceeding is pending since 2000. Under such circumstances, I direct the learned Magistrate to take appropriate steps for disposal of the proceeding at an early date bearing in mind the mandate under Section 143(3) of the Negotiable Instruments Act without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
