Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that after filing this writ petition seeking direction for release of provident fund dues in view of retirement of the petitioner far back on 31st March, 2021, provident fund dues have been released in favour of the petitioner.

However, it is contended that petitioner is entitled to receive interest beyond the period of six months on provident fund dues due to inordinate delay caused in releasing such dues.

State respondents are represented by learned advocates.

Having considered the prayer made in this writ petition Court finds that in view of release of provident fund dues no further order need be passed on this writ petition and the writ petition stands disposed of.

However, this order shall not preclude the petitioner to make a representation before the concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE) for grant of interest beyond the period of six months from the date of retirement due to delay caused in releasing provident fund dues.

If such representation is made within fortnight from date to the concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE) same shall be decided within a period of six weeks thereafter by passing reasoned order. 7.

However, there shall be no order as to costs. 8.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the learned Advocates for the parties on the usual undertakings.
