1. The petitioner seeks certain information under the Right to Information Act, 2005. The query of the petitioner dated 08.06.2018 is annexed at page 17 of the writ petition.
2. It appears that the petitioner sought information about the general diary entries of Lake Town P.S. on the days mentioned.
3. The State Public Information officer intimated the petitioner to mention a specific GDE No.
and date for supplying the required information. The petitioner, instead of doing so, approached this Court under Article 226.
4. On a perusal of the query it appears that, indeed the same is not specific. The petitioner intends to obtain information as to whether any general diary entry was made against him on a particular date.
5. It will be open for the petitioner to make specific query so that the information officer can understand the same properly and may supply the information as sought for in accordance with law.
6. The report filed by the Sub Divisional Police Officer, Barasat dated 10th March, 2025 being Memo no. 584/SDPO BST containing the communication dated 08.03.2025 by the officer-in-charge, Barrackpore Women P.S.
mentioning that in connection with G.R. Case No. 6127/2016 the complainant Nita Nandy (Mani) did not record any statement under Section 161 Cr.P.C. as the statement of the complainant fully corroborates the contents of the FIR is taken on record.
7. Copy of the report of SDPO, Barasat has been handed over to the petitioner in Court today.
8. The writ petition stands disposed of.
9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
