Hossain, Mr. Sanket Sarowgi, Mr. Subhajit Ghosh ...for the respondent nos. 22 The petitioner seeks regulation of certain private film exhibitors, for charging of exorbitant rates for exhibiting films in Bengali.

It is submitted that there ought to be a regulatory mechanism put in place by the State, to promote films of the nature produced by the petitioner, to enable them to compete with films of other languages.

This Court is of the view that there exists no vested rights of the nature that have been asserted by the petitioner against the respondents.

Since the matter has been pursued since 2011, the petitioner may make a representation to the respondents afresh and take further steps in accordance with law.

The writ petition is, therefore, disposed of without any other orders.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
