1. The petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was last rejected on April 15, 2024, in CRM (DB) 949 of 2024.

2. The petitioner says that after the last rejection, he made an application under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. The petitioner refers to the reply to such application in support of his contention that his EPIC card is genuine.

3. Opposing the prayer for bail learned Advocate for the State draws our attention to the photocopy of the original EPIC card in question.

4. On a comparison of the copy of the EPIC card annexed to the bail petition, it is evident that the EPIC card, copy whereof is annexed to the bail petition, is not a genuine document. Signed By :

5. Accordingly, we are not satisfied that the petitioner is an Indian national. The bail prayer is rejected.

6. The application being CRM (DB) 2808 of 2024 is accordingly dismissed.

7. However, since the petitioner is in custody for about one year and seven months, we request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial to the maximum extent possible and conclude the same on an early date.

8. Both the parties will immediately communicate this order to the learned Trial Court.
