The petitioner complains of inaction on the part of the police authorities in granting permission for holding Durga Puja in a particular place in Purba Medinipur. The application was made by the petitioner on 31st August, 2022 and the authorities are still to give their reply.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the respondents shall consider the application and communicate their decisions.

Considering the submissions made on behalf the respondents, since only seven days are left for the Durga Puja, the authorities are directed to meet the petitioner on 24th September, 2022 at 12 noon as suggested by the parties. The meeting shall be conducted as usual with the personal representatives of

the petitioner. The authorities are directed to communicate their respective decisions to the petitioner by 26th September, 2022.

W.P.A.21257 of 2022 is disposed of in terms of the above.

The police report is kept on record.
