1. The petitioner has challenged the notice dated August 16, 2024 issued by the Sub-Inspector of Police, Chakdah Police Station, RPD, Nadia directing the petitioner to produce the vehicle bearing registration no. WB08C0246 within five days from receipt of the same.

2. Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that since the FIR was registered in respect of vehicle no. WB08C0242, the petitioner did not comply with the requisition contained in the said notice dated August 16, 2024.

The learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the discrepancy with regard to the vehicle number in the FIR arose since the complainant initially submitted a wrong registration number of the offending vehicle and subsequently, the said complainant informed the police authorities about the correct

registration number of the offending vehicle, which led the investigating officer to issue the notice dated August 16, 2024.

4. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the complainant corrected the number of the offending vehicle six days after making the initial complaint.

5. It further appears that the said notice has worked itself out as the time for production of the vehicle has long expired.

6. However, since an FIR has been registered in connection with an accident that took place on August 3, 2024, the concerned investigating officer is directed to conclude the investigation expeditiously and to take all consequential steps thereupon.

7. If the petitioner is aggrieved, it will be open to the petitioner to approach the concerned jurisdictional court in accordance with law.

8. With the above observations/directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

9. There shall be, however, no order as to costs. 10.
