Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits there is delay in the trial of the case. He prays for bail. Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record including the statement of the minor victim. She has implicated the petitioner in the offence of rape. Bail prayer of the petitioner was rejected earlier on merit. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is, thus, rejected. Trial court is, however, directed to conduct the trial with utmost expedition and conclude the same at an early date preferably within six months from the next date fixed for keeping the statutory mandate under Section 35(2) of the POCSO Act.
