Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits trial has already commenced. We have considered evidence of the victim which implicates the petitioner in the offence of penetrative sexual assault. In view of the gravity of the offence and as trial is in progress, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is, thus, rejected. (Ajay Kumar Gupta, J.)
