The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that excepting registration of the FIR, the police authorities have not taken any further steps.

Mr. Sengupta, learned Advocate appearing on behalf of the State submits that the investigation is in progress. Learned Advocate for the State files a report of the Officer-in-Charge of the Nimta Police Station dated September 4, 2024, which is taken on record.

It appears from the said report that the concerned Investigating Officer examined the witnesses and recorded their statements under Section 180 of the BNSS and seized the pen drive containing the conversations with the alleged persons and all the medical documents. The doctors were examined and the statements were recorded. On August 5, 2024, the judicial

statement of the petitioner herein was recorded before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barrackpore. The report further states that on September 3, 2024, the FIR named accused person that is the 4th respondent herein was arrested and forwarded before the learned Court below.

The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the respondent no. 4 subsequently obtained bail. The Officer-inCharge in its report has further stated that the investigation of the case is in progress.

The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner further submits that the respondent nos. 4 and 5 have been continuously threatening the petitioner of dire consequences and there is a threat perception to the life of the petitioner. In view thereof, WPA No. 21635 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the concerned Investigating Officer to conclude the investigation expeditiously.

In case, there is any threat perception to the life of the petitioner, it will be open to the petitioner to submit a representation before the concerned authorities. If such a representation is submitted, such authority shall take necessary steps, make enquiries as to the threat perception and take action in accordance with law.

In the event, the petitioner is not satisfied with the progress of the investigation; the petitioner will be free to approach the jurisdictional court for appropriate reliefs. There will be no order as to costs.
