Learned lawyer for the petitioner submits there is slow progress in trial. He is in custody for more than two years. He prays for bail.

Learned lawyer for the State submits bail prayer of the petitioner was rejected in March 2023.

We have considered the materials on record. There are ample materials to show involvement of the petitioner in the crime of possessing narcotics above commercial quantity. His bail prayer was rejected earlier in March 2023. There is no substantial change in circumstances since then.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.

Trial court is requested to conduct the trial with utmost expedition and conclude the same at an early date preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
