-AndIn the matter of : Intaj Sk ... ... Petitioner(s) Mr. Samrat Banerjee Mr. Rajat Roy ... for the Petitioner(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about four years and only 35 witnessed have been examined out of the proposed 142 witnesses.

Learned advocate further submits that nine witnesses have turned hostile and the CBI preferred a revisional application for which the case has been stayed. However, none appears on behalf of the CBI.

The records of the case reflect that the case was initially registered at Rampurhat Police Station on or about 22.03.2022 and, subsequently, transferred to the CBI. Consequent to which, RC.0562022S006 was registered for investigation on 25.03.2022.

Having considered the heinousness involved in the present offence as also the fact that 35 witnesses have been examined, I am of the view that this is not a fit case for granting bail to the petitioner.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

Accordingly, CRM(M) 1663 of 2025 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
