And In Re :
Swapan Routh ... Petitioner Ms. Shruti Mukhopadhyay ... for the Petitioner Mr. Partha Pratim Das Mr. Shashanka Sekhar Saha ... for the State Report submitted by the State is taken on record. The petitioner is in custody for more than six years and renews his prayer for bail.
Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record. The bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down on earlier occasions considering the material on record. Witnesses have also implicated the petitioner.
The prosecution proposes to examine seventeen witnesses out of whom eight witnesses have already been examined.
Considering the material on record, prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected at this stage.
However, in view of incarceration of the petitioner, the learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
The bail application is disposed of.
Case Diary be returned.
Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
