The petitioner is an Assistant Professor (Stage-III) of the subject Sanskrit at the Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. The petitioner is challenging the decision of the selection committee refusing her prayer for promotion to the post of Associate Professor (Stage-IV).

The said decision was communicated to her by the Registrar (Acting) of the said University, the respondent no.3 herein vide letter dated May 11, 2021.

Mr. Pratik Majumder, learned advocate for the University submits that the regular Vice-Chancellor has joined the University and it has been decided that the prayer of the petitioner would be reconsidered.

In view of such stand of the University, the impugned communication dated May 11, 2021 is set aside. The concerned authority of the University is directed to reconsider the prayer of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Associate Professor (Stage-IV) as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law.

WPA 21099 of 2023 along with the connected applications being CAN 1 of 2025 and CAN 2 of 2025 are thus disposed of without any order as to costs.
