Petitioner has filed this writ petition for relief of getting electricity connection at his premises. It appears from the reports of the District Engineer, North Suburban District) CESC Limited submitted through Mr. Rai, learned advocate representing the CESC authority that the private respondent has got no objection in providing the petitioner a separate service connection with meter at the portion of petitioner's premises provided the existing meter standing in the name of the petitioner is removed from the existing board position in the portion of the private respondent. Learned advocate for the petitioner gives an undertaking on behalf of the petitioner that petitioner will restore the common passage in question after

laying the service line if new connection is provided to the petitioner.

Considering the submission of the parties, this writ petition being WPA 21107 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent electricity authority concerned to remove the existing meter and provide the petitioner new electricity connection with meter subject to compliance of all the formalities and the costs which are to be intimated to the petitioner within 7 working days from date and if petitioner complies the formalities to be intimated by the electricity authority within two weeks from date of receipt of such intimation. The electricity authority will provide the new service connection to the petitioner with meter at his premises and at his costs within four weeks from the date of compliance of all the formalities. The new connection will be on condition that within one week from date of providing electricity petitioner will repair the common passage and in case of failure private respondent will be at liberty to take steps against the petitioner including for disconnection of electricity.
