Petitioner is in custody for two years and seven months. He submits there is no direct evidence connecting him with the crime. He prays for bail.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor opposes the prayer for bail. He submits trial is in progress.

We have considered the materials on record. There are circumstantial evidence connecting the petitioner with the crime. Trial is in progress.

In view of the aforesaid materials on record and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
