Respondent No. 8 is currently employed as a Veterinary Field Supervisor under the Block Live Stock Development Officer, Gaighata, District-24 Parganas (North). It is undisputed that Respondent No. 8 obtained a loan of Rs. 3,00,000 (Rupees Three Lakh) from the petitioners on July 25, 2011.

However, Respondent No. 8 has defaulted in the repayment of the loan. According to the petitioners, as of June 27, 2024, an outstanding sum of Rs. 3,91,907 (Rupees Three Lakh Ninety-One Thousand Nine

Hundred and Seven) is due from Respondent No. 8, inclusive of interest.

The learned advocate for Respondent No. 8 has submitted that Respondent No. 8 is due to retire in December 2024 and is willing to have the outstanding amount deducted from his retiral dues. It is further submitted that upon the repayment of the loan, his pension papers should be processed.

In light of the aforementioned facts, I find no reason to keep this writ petition pending. Accordingly, I dispose of this writ petition with the direction upon the added respondent to deduct the outstanding dues from the retiral dues of Respondent No. 8 and remit the said amount to the petitioners.

It is further directed that upon repayment of the loan, the added respondent shall take all necessary steps to ensure that the retiral dues and pension of Respondent No. 8 are released promptly.

Ms. Anandamoyi Ghosh, learned advocate, is requested to appear on behalf of the State.

Therefore, WPA 21767 of 2024 is disposed of.
